Well I didn't do anything embarrassing, really. Actually it was kind of fun exploring the castle! I think I'm going to keep this map, it's kind of cute and makes me smile, I'll stick it into the front cover of my journal. Except crying when I found out I couldn't get back in without a password wasn't very fun, but

I think I don't really know lots of the people on here though. I'm the only Hufflepuff in fifth year who has one and I think most people who do are in sixth and seventh year. But I bet I'm not the only one who gets lonely sometimes. I'd like some new friends, if other people wouldn't mind.

Hey guys? Um. There are passwords to get into the common rooms. I went back to the place where I came out and the statue wouldn't let me in. But a nice painting did tell me how to find the kitchens so I found something to eat, and I found the door to go outside, but my map is sort of not quite perfect because the stairs move. The corridors don't seem to, but the stairs do, and I can't draw moving stairs!!!

I don't have anywhere to sleep. And I almost lost my cat. I think I'm going to just set up base in the kitchen with the funny house elf things, or... well, there's a really big hall with tables in it, really long tables, which I guess is where we eat meals. Oh and I saw an adult!! Who I guess was a teacher, but she didn't seem to know what was going on either.

I'm so sick of homework!! I wish we could just sit the OWLs now and get them over with.

Does anyone know if we have a Hogsmeade weekend coming up?

I wish it would be spring.

I'm so glad these gnomes are here. I don't know if that's strange, but they're obviously linked to the plants and grass that have been growing around the common room, and the corridors nearby, and with it so cold and grey outside it's just so nice to have living things in here. Even if it is making it hard to cast spells properly... At least that doesn't matter for Herbology or Potions or much of Care of Magical Creatures.

There's been a little plant growing right by the head of my bed and I'm really hoping it will get bigger. I'd love to have a little tree around my bed. As long as I could still get in and out of it of course. I think Bran would like it too, he's forever climbing things, which wouldn't be nearly so bad if his claws weren't quite so sharp.

I never knew telling the truth could lead to such trouble. I don't like when everyone's fighting.
